I’m coming home
I’m coming home
Tell the world I’m coming home
Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday
I know my kingdom awaits and they’ve forgiven my mistakes
I’m coming home, I’m coming home
Tell the world that I’m coming – P. Diddy
There is nothing as cleansing as rain!
Yes I am really quoting P.Diddy song lyrics right now, and I will explain exactly why if you just give me a chance (lol). These lyrics are actually very special to me because they represent to me my growth and my ”coming home” to myself. If you read my blogs you will notice that I write a lot about being my real authentic self and practicing self love. This comes natural to me because I am going through that process right now and so it is something I think about all the time, reflect on and need to express. In coming home, they sing about the rain washing away the pain, and that ”they” will forgive the mistakes. I think it’s all about forgiving yourself for past mistakes and cleansing yourself.
I would not mind a home like this at all though
One thing I have learned is that a home is not a place where you live: a house, a city or a person. When you look up the meaning of home you will come to find out that this word has a lot of different definitions. I will share some with you:
1. A place where one lives; a residence.
2. The physical structure within which one lives, such as a house or apartment.
3. A dwelling place together with the family or social unit that occupies it; a household.
4.a. An environment offering security and happiness.
b. A valued place regarded as a refuge or place of origin.
Obviously to me the only definition that I resonate with is number 4: An environment offering security and happiness, a valued place regarded as a refuge or place of origin. So when P. Diddy and the gang sing about coming home, all I hear is that I am coming home to myself. Finding and creating a space within myself where there is happiness and security. A place within myself that feels safe. A place within myself where I can always run to whenever I feel tired, stressed, lonely or any other time I need to feel safe and secure. My very own Kingdom! So why is it so important to have a home within yourself, you may wonder.
The only thing that is certain: All changes
Well first of all because everything around us is always changing. We have no control over the things outside of ourselves. So when we depend
on other people, places or situations to give us a sense of being at home, we will suffer eventually. Just because we don’t have any influence over how things will be in the future. What we do have control over is ourselves. Naturally this means that if we build a home within
ourselves we will have a home for a lifetime! As I am writing this I realize this is not an easy task indeed. Ofcourse we create homes in houses surrounded by the people we love. And this blog is not telling you not to cherish that or even enjoy it. All I am trying to get across is that we should not be so attached that we do not have an own life, a own home that only we can access. There is a Kingdom awaiting inside all of us.
Tune in to yourself through meditation
If I can talk about myself, I am so sensitive to others needs and wants that I have a tendency to forget about myself sometimes. I need
to have a sanctuary that only I can go to so I can reload myself, release myself from all the feelings of others, and tune in
to my truest desires. I work with people and often I come home very tired because of that. In the weekends therefore, I mostly spend my Saturday and Sunday alone. Just to re-energize, relax and take care of myself
. My Kingdom awaited me inside of myself and I found it! This is how I have created my Kingdom home within myself:
- I take care of my soul by expressing myself
- I meditate daily
- I listen to my body: eat accordingly, sleep accordingly etc.
- I protect myself from negativity
- I spoil myself with good food, nice people and doing the things I love to do.
This is how I created my Kingdom inside of me. How do you create yours?
